Lumatek Dimmable Digital Ballast 

Electronically controlled ballast with microprocessor control. Lumatek digital ballasts offer the most advanced technology on the greenhouse-lighting market. Compact and completely silent, they have the highest efficiency – more lumens per watt than any other model. Microprocessor technology allows adjustment to the lamp model in use and its condition, as well as to mains voltage. The 400-watt model has 4 operating modes: 250W, 250W SuperLumen, 400W and 400W SuperLumen. For a 400W lamp, start at 400W; then you can switch to 400SL (+10%) or reduce to 250SL or 250W. For a 250W lamp, start at 250W; then you can switch to 250SL (+10%). Important: do not switch the ballast to SL (super lumen) mode when using a metal-halide (MH) lamp. Measurements indicate up to 30% greater brightness than analogue ballasts and 10-15% more than competing electronic models. The electronic ballast solves the problem of irregular mains voltage. Analogue ballasts age over time, begin to make noise, consume more electricity and become hotter, while light output decreases. This does not happen with electronic ballasts; they maintain the same level of output and efficiency. Lumatek ballasts are programmed for "soft start", meaning a voltage and current peak is not required to start the lamp. This extends bulb life, does not overload the electrical installation, and allows a greater number of ballasts to start safely at the same time. To ensure safe operation, the Lumatek ballast is programmed to switch off in the event of a short circuit, a burnt-out bulb or a missing bulb. Completely silent, supplied in a sealed enclosure. Each ballast is tested for 12 hours to ensure maximum reliability.

Lumatek is designed to operate with quality lamps. Disconnect the power when changing the lamp. Lumatek recommends replacing the lamp every 6-12 months. VERY IMPORTANT: let the lamp cool completely (20-30 min.) before switching it on again! Doing otherwise shortens its lifespan. Also, do not switch it off before the lamp has reached full power. Protect the ballast from overheating and moisture. Install units at least 15cm apart.
