Sowing method: from January to April, grow seedlings in propagators; they develop best at a temperature of 25-30oC and in a sunny location. We recommend using a heated propagator, which will speed up germination and growth.

  • Before sowing, soak the seeds in water for 30 min to soften their coat.
  • Sowing depth: 1 - 2 cm.
  • Water regularly and do not allow the substrate to dry out completely. We recommend the specialised seedling substrate CANNA Terra Seed Mix 25l.

Growing method: Chilli pepper is a tropical plant that requires warmth, moisture and sunlight.

Environmental requirements:

  • Light - a sunny location receiving at least 8 hours of sun per day.
  • Soil - rich in organic matter
  • Humidity - do not let the soil dry out. Well-watered soil provides the air humidity plants need.
  • Warmth - heat-loving (20-30oC), does not tolerate low temperatures (<10oC).

Plant ready seedlings outdoors or in a greenhouse in May, once the risk of frost has passed. If necessary, newly planted plants can be covered with plastic for the first few weeks. This helps them acclimatise.

*After the outdoor season ends, plants can be moved indoors and continue to bear fruit.
