"Lemon" courgettes (Lemon) - 10 pcs seeds

Lemon zucchini is a unique variety with a colour and shape resembling lemons. From a distance, it can easily be mistaken for citrus fruit, but its taste is much milder, sweeter and refreshing. Young zucchini are excellent eaten raw; sliced thinly, they add freshness to salads.

The plant is easy to grow outdoors. It does not trail; the fruits grow directly from the centre of the plant. It is best to harvest them young, but for a decorative effect you can allow them to ripen fully and keep them as decoration.

This variety is a gardener's favourite because of its high yield, insect resistance and attractive appearance.

Sowing method:

• Planting: From April to May indoors or directly in the garden after mid-May.
• Plant spacing: Approximately 90x90 cm.

Recipe ideas:

• Abundant harvest? Chop the zucchini, onion and garlic, sauté and blend. Freeze the resulting mixture; it makes an ideal base for soups.
• Overgrown zucchini? Peel them and remove the seeds. Use a peeler to make thin strips, salt them and leave them to drain. Mix with chopped onion, mayonnaise and herbs such as pimpernel or chives for a wonderful salad serving 4-8 people.
