Measuring soil pH and temperature—the essentials of growing.

• All plants need a balanced diet of nutrients (food) to grow. However, plants can access nutrients only if the pH (potential hydrogen) of your growing medium falls within the correct range.
• Contrary to common belief, all growers should measure pH, whether growing in soil or solution. This is because pH plays an important role in making nutrients soluble so they can be absorbed by plants. If your medium is too alkaline or too acidic, your plants will not be able to obtain all the nutrients they need. Temperature is also important, as it can affect the structure and growth rate of your plants.
• Together with the Bluelab Conductivity Pen, you have a convenient, accurate system for ensuring optimal plant growth and health.
