Liquid silicon

Liquid Silicon... the missing element.

• contains 6% potassium silicate (K₂SiO₃) 
• strengthens cell walls
• increases nutrient uptake
• increases resistance to pests
• increases resistance to fungal infections and moulds, such as powdery mildew* and botrytis (Botrytis, also known as grey mould* or grey rot*)
• improves chlorophyll production and, in turn, photosynthetic function

Silicon is a beneficial plant nutrient found in almost all natural soils, but so far it has not been included in hydroponic* nutrient solutions. Silicon strengthens plant cell walls, producing healthier plants with substantial root systems and increased resistance to pests and diseases. Liquid Silicon is highly beneficial to plants at 20–50 parts per million in the nutrient solution. It is not included, and cannot be included at such levels, in nutrient solutions. It must be added as a separate component by the grower/gardener. Liquid Silicon can be added to the nutrient tank every time a new nutrient solution is prepared.

Liquid Silicon plays an important role in the absorption and vascular transport of mineral nutrients and can significantly improve the plant's mechanical strength and resistance to fungal diseases. Adding Liquid Silicon to nutrient solutions can significantly reduce the frequency and severity of fungal diseases, including rot and powdery mildew. Recent studies show that increasing the concentration of silicon in hydroponic* solutions leads to thicker, whiter, healthier root systems and increased yields. Silicon availability has been found to result in higher chlorophyll concentrations per unit of leaf tissue area. This means that the plant can tolerate both lower and higher light levels, using more of the available light.
