Aci Sivri is a traditional Turkish hot pepper variety (Capsicum annuum), valued for its distinctive long, slender fruits and rich, complex flavour. The peppers reach around 15–18 cm long, have a slightly wrinkled surface and ripen from green to deep red. Their heat is substantial – approximately 30 000–50 000 SHU on the Scoville scale, although individual fruits may be milder. In Turkey, Aci Sivri is traditionally harvested and eaten while still green.

Aci Sivri is a classic Turkish hot pepper variety that combines good heat with excellent flavour. Unlike varieties where the main focus is solely on heat intensity, Aci Sivri stands out for its rich, complex flavour, making it an interesting choice for culinary use.

The plants grow vigorously and form numerous characteristic long, narrow and slightly wrinkled peppers. The fruits reach approximately 15–18 cm in length. They are green at first and turn red when fully ripe. In Turkish culinary tradition, however, the peppers are most often harvested green, before reaching full maturity.

The variety's heat level is 30 000–50 000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). The producer notes that natural variation is possible and occasionally milder fruits occur, but the characteristic flavour remains.

Aci Sivri is suitable for both greenhouse and outdoor cultivation. Greenhouse growing is recommended for higher yields. Seeds can be sown indoors from January to April, at a temperature of 20–30°C. Young plants are moved outdoors around the end of May, once the risk of low temperatures has passed.

With more vigorous growth, plants can be tied to a support and, if desired, pruned to maintain a more compact shape. An interesting feature is that plants can be moved into pots in autumn and continue fruiting on a bright windowsill.

💡 Urban Botaniks tip: Start Aci Sivri indoors early enough and provide consistent warmth during germination. When growing in Bulgaria, an early start gives the plants more time to develop a strong root system and form a good harvest during the warm months.

A porous diffuser (aeration ring) in a ring shape, designed to produce numerous fine bubbles and provide optimal aeration for reservoirs, hydroponics and aquariums.

Detailed specifications:

• Material: rubber/polymer housing with numerous micropores for generating fine bubbles.
• Format: ring-shaped or straight, in a 180mm size.
• Porosity / bubbles: very fine bubbles for higher oxygen-transfer efficiency.
• Inlet nozzle: the 180mm version uses an 8mm inlet fitting.
• Installation: includes rubber suction feet for securing it to the reservoir/aquarium surface.
• Retention and durability: minimal maintenance; long service life with proper use.
• Applications: for aerating hydroponic systems, reservoirs and aquariums, and improving oxygen content in water.

Recommendations for use:

• Before first use: briefly fill the diffuser with water (soak it) to activate the pores and ensure even operation.
• Connect the inlet to a compressor or air pump using a compatible hose and fitting.
• Place the diffuser on the bottom of the reservoir for the best distribution effect.
• Keep the surface and pores clean — rinse regularly or clean gently to prevent clogging.
• Use suitable airflow strength — excessive pressure may damage the pore structure and lead to uneven bubbles.
• Secure the diffuser firmly with the suction feet to prevent it from moving under air pressure.

Benefits

This ring-shaped aeration diffuser produces very fine bubbles, increasing oxygen exchange in the water. It is easy to install and maintain, and is suitable for a variety of uses — from plant systems to aquariums and reservoirs.

Dimensions

Air Flow

Up to 3580 m³/h at 50 Hz

This makes the OVK 4E 400 suitable for applications where a large volume of air is required at relatively low static pressure. This is where the axial fan performs best – for free discharge through a wall, large openings, or short, low-resistance air ducts.

🔊 Noise

Sound pressure level: 53 dBA at 3 m

This is a high-flow industrial fan, so it is not designed for applications where low noise is the primary priority. For installation in sensitive environments, suitable sound insulation or distancing from the working area may be provided.

Operating Temperature Range

The model can transport air with a temperature of approximately:

-30°C to +60°C

This makes it suitable for a wide range of technical and industrial conditions.

Motor and Reliability

The OVK 4E 400 uses a 4-pole asynchronous electric motor with:

• built-in thermal protection;
• ball bearings;
• an approximate service life of up to 40,000 hours;
• speed control capability via a compatible controller.

Suitable for

The VENTS OVK 4E 400 can be used for:

• industrial ventilation;
• warehouses and production facilities;
• technical rooms;
• greenhouses and grow spaces;
• garages and workshops;
• direct air discharge through an external wall;
• supply ventilation systems;
• systems requiring high flow and low resistance.

Installation

The fan is designed for wall mounting and can be positioned on the inside or outside of the wall, depending on the project. The circular mounting plate features pre-drilled holes for fastening.

Since this is an axial fan, for optimal performance, it is best to keep the airflow path before and after the fan as clear as possible.

Speed Control

Speed can be managed via a suitable:

stepped or stepless speed regulator.

The regulator is not a standard part of the kit and must be selected separately according to the motor's electrical parameters.

Key Advantages

✔️ High air flow – up to 3580 m³/h
✔️ Large operating diameter – Ø400 mm
✔️ Only 180 W nominal power
✔️ Single-phase 230 V power supply

✔️ Built-in overheating protection
✔️ Long-life ball bearings
✔️ Operating range -30 to +60°C
