BAC-1 is designed to control temperature, humidity, CO₂ and an additional "night" device. The controller has 4 outputs and an external probe with temperature, humidity and photocell sensors. The probe is designed to respond quickly to environmental changes, remain unaffected by electromagnetic emissions, such as from ballasts or ozonators, and is connected by a 5-metre cable.

Installation:

• Mount the BAC-1 on a wall.
• Place the probe in a suitable location where it can receive relevant environmental data - in an area with good air circulation, at an appropriate height, away from direct light.
• The probe connects to the controller via a connector. The connector is secured with a quick-release screw.
• Connect the controller to the mains and the devices to the controller. Ensure the maximum power is not exceeded. If you need to connect more powerful equipment (air conditioner, dehumidifier or heater), use a relay (contactor).

WARNING: The controller is not waterproof. Install only in locations where there is no risk of getting wet!!!

General instructions:

• BAC-1 is one of the easiest controllers to use, while offering sufficient capability through its 3 operating modes. The controller supplies power to its 4 outputs:
• "COOLING OUTPUT" (top left) - activates a cooling device (e.g. ventilation or air conditioning).
• "HUMIDITY OUTPUT" (bottom right) - activates a dehumidifying or humidifying device.
• "NIGHT OUTPUT" (top right) - activates a device that switches on during the dark period.
• "CO2 OUTPUT" (bottom left) - activates a device that switches on during the light period and when "COOLING OUTPUT" is not active. Please note: the controller does not measure CO₂ levels.

Settings:

• Temperature — use the left knob to set the maximum permitted temperature. When this temperature is reached, the controller starts supplying power to the "COOLING OUTPUT" terminal (top left). This continues until the temperature drops by 3°C (the so-called hysteresis).
• Humidity — use the right knob to set the humidity. When this value is reached, the controller starts supplying power to the "HUMIDITY OUTPUT" terminal (bottom right). This continues until the humidity changes by 5% (the so-called hysteresis), upwards or downwards depending on the selected mode.

Operating modes:

• Use the red "SELECT MODE" button to select one of 3 available modes:
• MODE "A" — combined temperature and dehumidification — reducing temperature and REDUCING humidity TOGETHER when temperature or humidity changes.
• MODE "B" — separate temperature control and dehumidification — reducing temperature and REDUCING humidity SEPARATELY when temperature or humidity changes.
• MODE "C" — separate temperature control and humidification — reducing temperature and INCREASING humidity SEPARATELY when temperature or humidity changes.

Questions and answers:

Are the mode indicators flashing?

• Sensor error. Switch off the controller, disconnect the sensor, reconnect it and start it again.

Is the humidity increasing instead of decreasing (or vice versa)?

• Select the correct mode.

Is the CO2 output not activating?

• This output activates only during the light period (the DAYTIME MODE indicator must be on). Make sure the sensor photocell receives light. The CO2 output does not activate while COOLING OUTPUT is active.

Is the controller not supplying power?

• Restart using the button at the bottom of the housing. Check the power rating of equipment connected to the controller. If necessary, use a relay (contactor).

Install at least 3 m away from sources of electromagnetic radiation (e.g. ballasts or ozone generators).

• Do not use near water. Do not install near heat sources. Do not block ventilation openings.
• Do not attempt to repair the controller. Do not use it if the power cable insulation is damaged.
• The controller has a built-in circuit breaker against short circuits or overload. All outputs are grounded; connect only to a grounded socket.
