DiSTs are robust, reliable pocket testers that provide fast, accurate conductivity readings. The DiST® tester family is widely used to monitor EC in drinking water, HVAC systems, reverse-osmosis systems, cooling towers, wastewater, laboratories, agriculture, aquaculture and aquariums, hydroponics, and the printing industry. These testers feature an amperometric graphite electrode that provides greater measurement reliability because the electrodes do not oxidise. Amperometric EC measurement is based on Ohm’s law, I = V / R, where R depends on the distance between the two electrodes and their surface area. Oxidation changes both, affecting accuracy. DiST’s non-oxidising graphite electrodes provide an optimal surface for accurate, reliable results. When calibration is required, simply immerse the electrode tip in calibration solution and adjust it.
