Golden Detroit is a reliable golden beetroot variety with an aromatic flavour and attractive, tasty leaves. This variety is gaining popularity among gardeners and cooking enthusiasts because of its sweet, milder taste. The bright orange-yellow colour of Golden Detroit adds style and freshness to salads and dishes. When cooked, the roots turn golden yellow and literally melt in the mouth. The light-green leaves with yellow veins are excellent in salads when young, and after brief cooking they make a wonderful substitute for spinach.

Sowing method:

• Under glass: Sow the seeds in pots or trays at a minimum temperature of 15°C, from mid-February to the end of March.
• Outdoors: Plant from April to June, spacing plants 30x7 cm apart.
• Harvest: Young leaves can be harvested after 35 days and the roots after 60-90 days.
