Calibration:

1. Immerse the measuring instrument in 1413 µS/cm calibration solution.
2. Unscrew the battery-compartment cap on the top of the measuring instrument.
3. Allow the reading to stabilise, then use a small screwdriver to turn the calibration trimmer inside the battery compartment until the display shows “1.41”.
4. Fit the battery-compartment cap.
5. Calibration is complete.

Maintenance: EC electrodes can develop nutrient buildup over time. To minimise buildup, always rinse the probe in fresh tap water after each use!.

EC to TDS conversion: Milwaukee EC Pen, like all conductivity meters, measures electrically charged ions in a solution and provides an absolute measure of conductivity. EC is often converted to TDS in parts per million (ppm). Different scales include the 500 scale, 650 scale and 700 scale. However, true PPM can only be determined through chemical analysis. Your mS/cm reading can be approximately converted to TDS (ppm), as shown in the examples below.
