VENTS P3-1-300 is a series of wall-mounted switches for controlling multi-speed fans with a 230 V single-phase power supply. The series mainly includes the P3-1-300 for three-speed fans. Control is step-based – the user selects one of the pre-set motor speeds rather than adjusting the speed smoothly.

P3-1-300 is not a smooth speed controller. It is designed specifically for fans that come from the factory with three separate motor speeds. Through the rotary switch, the user selects low or high speed or turns the fan off completely.

This makes it suitable for a number of two-speed VENTS fans, including models from the TT series, where the manufacturer lists it as an external accessory for controlling the two-speed motor.

Operating mode

Control is as simple as possible:

P3-1-300 switches between the pre-set speed leads of the motor. Therefore, it must be used only with a fan whose motor is designed for three-speed operation.

Compatibility

P3-1-300 is designed for three-speed fans.

It is important that the specific fan has separate electrical leads for low, medium, and high speed. If the motor is single-speed and allows adjustment by changing the voltage, another type of controller is required, for example from the RS-1 series.

Installation and protection

It operates at 230 V / 50–60 Hz, supports a load of up to 1.8 A, and allows for simultaneous switching on/off and speed regulation via a single rotary knob. Controlling multiple fans

A single RS-1-400 can control more than one compatible fan simultaneously, if:

the total current of all connected fans is ≤ 1.8 A.

For example, with two fans drawing 0.6 A each, the total load is 1.2 A, which remains within the allowed range.

It is also important to verify that the specific motor is suitable for voltage-based speed control.

Protection

The controller features:
