Ghost pepper (Capsicum chinense - “Bhut Jolokia”). This is one of the hottest types of pepper! It is no coincidence that this hybrid, obtained in northeastern India, is called “ghost”. It has been measured at a terrifying 900,000 to 1,200,000 Scovilles. For comparison, pure capsaicin, which is responsible for the pepper’s spiciness, is 16,000,000 Scovilles. In addition to spicing up curries, the local population uses it to drive elephants away from their properties, and the army has the right to use it in the form of hot bombs in military operations.

Environmental requirements:

• Light - a sunny place, illuminated at least 8 hours a day.
• Soil - rich in organic matter
• Humidity - do not let the soil dry out. Well-watered soil provides the air humidity needed by the plants.
• Heat - thermophilic (20-30 ^° C), does not tolerate low temperatures (<10 ^° C).

The finished seedlings are planted outdoors or in a greenhouse in May, when the risk of frost has passed. If necessary, the newly planted plants can be covered with plastic for the first few weeks. This helps with their acclimatization.
